Amanda Cantin: Separating at Dawn Solo Exhibition

  • Studio Hue 53 53 Curtiss Parkway Miami Springs, FL, 33166 United States (map)

Studio Hue 53 is excited to present Separating at Dawn, a solo exhibition by Amanda Cantin, marking her first show with the gallery. Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, May 8, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The exhibition will be on display from May 8 to June 8.

Cantin’s innovative work invites you to explore art rooted in storytelling and archival, rekindling the importance of self- awareness and emotional depth through both unified and fragmented depictions of nature and the assemblage of raw, found materials. We are thrilled to present a curated collection of her impactful pieces, showcasing the immense talent of this visionary artist. Join us in celebrating her ascension within the art community and beyond.

We are privileged to present a collection of works inspired by nature, which serves as a profound metaphor for healing, transformation, and growth amidst the pain and escape we often seek in our socio-political landscape. Through a dream-like, painterly approach, Cantin explores the raw depths of the human condition and experience. Each piece captures fleeting moments or memories, reflecting on individual identity and emotional awareness, all while invoking the beauty and starkness of nature. Amanda Cantin's journey of artistic exploration began after earning her bachelor’s degree, followed by a transformative time living in the mountains of California, where she immersed herself in the outdoors and collaborated with like-minded individuals. Studio Hue 53 serves as a platform for dialogue and discovery, where Amanda Cantin shares her passion for deep, introspective work.

Bringing Amanda Cantin’s powerful hybrid of intimate painting and installation into our studio offers viewers like you the opportunity to engage with thought-provoking reflections on lamentation— whether through the death found in nature or the death of love—and the transformative journey of healing that follows.

About Amanda Cantin

“My paintings are like emotional snapshots of where one is at in the healing process. The unfinished spaces could represent areas that still need time or resolution, while the more detailed parts might symbolize moments where you've found clarity or growth. The dream-like quality gives these paintings an ethereal, almost otherworldly feel, which can make the emotional journey feel more fluid, like it's unfolding in layers.”
