This month, we’re diving into the vibrant world of artist Alma Thomas! With spring right around the corner, her colorful and dynamic art is the perfect inspiration.

Alma Thomas (1891–1978) was a groundbreaking African American artist known for her vibrant, abstract paintings inspired by nature and the cosmos. A former educator, she gained national recognition in her later years, becoming the first Black woman to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum. Her signature mosaic-like brushstrokes and bold colors continue to inspire generations of artists.
